I'm excited and delighted to be telling you that we're releasing our next single Last Time Around on the 22nd of February at The Merri Creek Tavern. We recorded this one a while back with Roger Bergodaz at Union Street Studios and have been waiting for the right time and place to release it into the wild. Kicking the night off will be none other than Lachlan Alexander Bryan so clear your diaries for this one, it's going to be a ripper.
I'm delighted to be announcing my debut gig at The Fat Goat. The Fat Goat is a fantastic little venue in Upwey that provides great beer and food and just so happens to be run by lovely people. So get yourselves along to The Fat Goat and enjoy an afternoon on the mountain. I'll make sure the music's up to scratch with the grub and the booze.
It's been too long but I'm happy to say that we're back at The Lowee, arguably Brunswick's best pub. Come and finish off the working week with us, it'll be hot on the dance floor but James and the gang will keep you cool from behind the bar with a few frothies.
We don't need any excuse to visit the beautiful part of the world that is Beechworth...but heading up to play our debut gig at The Tanswells is about as good as any we could think of. So if you're in the area do yourself a favour and pop in!
We'll be playing Swamplands Bar in Thornbury for the first time. I'm also delighted to announce that Chelsea Allen will be joining us on drums for the first time too! So if you enjoy new experiences come along to Swamplands Bar where I can guarantee you'll get to experience at least two! I hear it's also going to be good beer drinking weather.
Lachlan Bryan and myself will be paying tribute to the living legend that is Steve Earle for The Drunken Poet's Tribute Tuesday! And, if you need any more reason to drag yourself out on a winter's night, we'll be joined by another living legend, Nadine Budge of The Stetson Family. As always Siobhan and The Drunken Poet crew will be on hand to make you feel right at home with the warm welcome, craic and service only they can deliver.
Now we just need to decide which of Steve's songs we're going to play, he's got a few...
The Gem is without a doubt one of the city's best bar/restaurant/live music venues and I've lost count of the times I've been there for a feed and a gig. That's why me and the band will be on our best form for our Gem debut, we might even break out an Elvis number just to fit in with the decor. Get yourselves along, eat, drink and we'll make you merry!
We'll be supporting Gordie MacKeeman and His Rhythm Boys for their Melbourne gig at The Spotted Mallard. Gordie MacKeeman exemplifies the term natural showman. An ace fiddle player nicknamed “crazy legs” for his frenetic loose-limbed step-dancing, he just loves to perform. Combine that exuberance and onstage dynamism with the stellar musicianship of his multi-instrumentalist comrades His Rhythm Boys, and you have an unstoppable roots music force. That potent combination has made the group highly sought-after performers on the international roots music circuit, thrilling audiences from Adelaide, Australia, to Edinburgh, Scotland.
